Is your gym closed? Have your cycling classes been cancelled? Has Pilates been put on hold? Don’t stress! Take a deep breath. You will get through this!
I know many of us are creatures of habit and can really get addicted to an exercise program or group class. On the other hand, some of us may need the structure of working out at a gym with a personal trainer. But since most gyms are closed for now, we need to think of other ways to workout. One option is at home workouts, either on your own or online. This can be great if you can motivate yourself to find the time and place in your home to do it. Another option is to look around your house and find ways to workout. Vacuuming your entire house, cleaning out closets, dusting furniture, gardening, washing your car, painting a room, cleaning out your garage and rearranging your furniture are a few good ways to get a full body workout. You can also go for a walk, run or bike ride outside (just don’t get too close to anyone!). Getting fresh air and being out in nature is so good for you for so many reasons! If you’re home with kids, they can join you in a walk around the neighborhood. It’s good for them to get outside, too!
Just make sure you do something physical for at least 30 minutes a day. You’ll get through this and stay fit, too!
